Early this summer we hosted a group of tourism professionals from the Maritimes alongside @culinarytourismalliance , @ontarioculinary to chat about tourism and what makes a tourism experience transformative and meaningful.

We had the opportunity to host 4 first year UWO me

We had the opportunity to host 4 first year UWO med students who spent the last week on placement at our local hospital and getting to know small town Tillsonburg. This was our first evening From Tree to Table experience and I must say the sunset dinner on the back porch prepared by the one and only Chef Matt of @thrivenorfolk was spectacular! 🌅

It was a magical day at From Tree to Table ✨
A delicate layer of snow blanketed the naked tree branches as we cut fresh paths following turkey, rabbit and deer tracks through the slumbering forest ❄️ 🌳…We crafted our own tea from forest ingredients and sipped the fresh flavours under the crooked oak trees before we walked in the door of the cozy woodshop to craft our own charcuterie boards out of local sustainability harvested hardwood. Thanks for a great day @bbqdad2.0 and @susiemilliganbruce!! ❄️ 🌳 🕸️

A simple but fun 🪑 build from last winter. A reclining Morris Chair replicated after a centuries old family chair from the Netherlands and crafted from White Ash from the family farm. Shout out to Rene at Frantic Upholstery for working with me on this one!

A long overdue post! Last winter I had the honour

A long overdue post!
Last winter I had the honour to craft an Heirloom Harvest Table for some dear friends made from lumber salvaged from a barn on their family farm. A lot of history and memories in those old growth pine, fir and spruce timbers.
I was able to re-purpose the old ladder to the hay loft and included an engraved medallion in the top commemorating the history of this piece. A simple yet challenging piece to build as their was JUST enough original lumber to do it!
